Penn Center Residential Care Facility, a subsidiary of AbbeHealth Services located in Delhi, Iowa, provides mental health services to individuals working towards recovery, helping them return to more independent living in the community. We are seeking team-oriented nurses to provide care to individuals focused on mental health recovery.

Responsibilities

  1. Set up and distribute medications according to physician’s orders.
  2. Participate in total resident care through development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual care plans, addressing physical, psycho/social, legal, and spiritual needs.
  3. Provide 1:1 interaction with residents.
  4. Participate in the development, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of resident programming.
  5. Participate in resident orientation programs.
  6. Document any changes in programming, as outlined in or in addition to care plans, on an ongoing basis.
  7. Participate in mandatory educational programs.
  8. Participate in intrafacility committees as assigned by the administrator.
  9. Attendance is essential.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have a CMA certificate from an accredited program (provide copies of certificates of completion). Preferably with at least two years of experience in human services, mental health, mental retardation, or gerontology.
  • Health examination and TB test required at employment start and periodically as mandated by the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals.
  • Pre-employment mandatory drug testing, with ongoing testing as per policy and the Drug-Free Workplace.
  • Valid Iowa Driver’s License or ability to obtain one shortly after employment.
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the requirements set forth in AbbeHealth’s Vehicle Fleet Driving Program.
  • Maintain current automobile insurance in accordance with AbbeHealth policies.
