Certified Medical Technologist II, Blood Bank, First Shift (Finance)

UC Health is hiring a full-time Certified Medical Technologist II for the blood bank department for first shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. We're offering a $10,000 sign-on bonus!

The Certified Medical Technologist II performs routine and complex laboratory analyses, identifies and corrects problems, develops alternatives when necessary, stays current in laboratory theory and technique, assumes responsibility for problem solving, and exercises independent judgment and interpretation.

As part of UC Health's Clifton Campus, the Medical Center has served Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky for nearly 200 years. It provides advanced medical knowledge and technology, and houses Greater Cincinnati's only Level I adult trauma center.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum: Associate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
  • Required: MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or MLT(ASCP) certification or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Laboratory experience.
  • Required: Knowledge of specimen requirements, laboratory terminology, assay schedules, and turnaround times; ability to read and comprehend written information; ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred: Keyboarding skills.

Expected starting salary range is $33.21/hr - $41.06/hr, dependent on experience and skills.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze data for trends and problems, undertake corrective actions.
  • Keep informed of ongoing issues and resolutions.
  • Obtain blood specimens via venipuncture or skin puncture.
  • Accession, triage, and process specimens, evaluate sample acceptability.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
