Job summary

University of Kentucky seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist - Certified (Core Lab) to perform clinical tests across blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, and urinalysis in a fast paced academic medical center. The role supports Level I trauma center operations and patient care through accurate, timely reporting.

The position is located in the Core Lab with responsibilities across multiple sites, including Chandler, Good Samaritan, ED Satellite and Markey Satellite.

Qualifications

• BS required; MLS certification preferred.
• ASCP certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in core lab: blood gas, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, urinalysis.
• Ensure accuracy and timely result reporting across testing sites (Chandler, Good Samaritan, ED Satellite, Markey Satellite).
• Maintain quality and operate state‑of‑the‑art instrumentation.
