Job summary

The position requires an associate degree in CLS/MLT or related field, with certification eligibility within a year, and no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required in CLS, MLT, Chemical Science or Biological Science.
• BOC or eligibility required within a year if CLS/MLT; ASCP/AMT board certification if chemical/biological science.
• No specific work experience required.

Responsibilities

• Instructs patients on fasting prep and test questions.
• Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment.
• May assist in teaching Clinical Laboratory Science students and residents.
• May monitor daily operation of the laboratory section.
• Participates in teams or handles independent projects as assigned.
• Performs routine/standardized tests using standard techniques and equipment; prepares specimens and stores them.
• Prepares reagents and observes preparation of standard materials; monitors reagent levels.
• Records test results and notifies supervisor/physician of deviations.
