Job summary

Talentify is seeking a healthcare billing and coding specialist to ensure accurate CPT and ICD-10 coding from patient records and to manage claims, denials, and payments. You will audit processes and collaborate with internal teams to maintain compliance with regulations.

The role requires CPA-certified coder credentials and prior healthcare billing experience, with strong organizational and communication skills to support patient and insurer inquiries.

Qualifications

• Certified Professional Coder Certificate required.
• Associates Degree in Healthcare preferred.
• Previous healthcare billing, coding and follow-up experience.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to set priorities and manage varying workload.

Responsibilities

• Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services.
• Develop and/or update master file of procedure and diagnosis codes.
• Update organization fee schedules as necessary.
• Work with billing and reimbursement staff to identify and correct claims.
• Assign proper CPT and ICD-10 codes from patient records for claims submission.
• Process patient accounts receivable, EOBs, denials and documentation requests.
• Post insurance and patient payments into the system.
• Perform internal audits of billing and reimbursement procedures.
• Perform internal chart audits for billing and coding accuracy.
• Coordinate with auditors during organization audits.
• Comply with all organizational rules, regulations and procedures.
• Handle patient and insurer inquiries by phone.
