SUMMARY
We are seeking a fully remote Certified Medical Coder to join our Newton, Massachusetts team. This full-time, benefit-eligible position offers flexible hours Monday through Friday, tailored to your schedule. Candidates must be certified through AAPC and/or AHIMA and reside in Massachusetts or surrounding states. Under general supervision, the Certified Medical Coder will assign diagnosis and procedure codes to ensure compliant billing for facility and select office-based services (e.g., endoscopy, oncology chemotherapy infusions). Responsibilities include reviewing medical records (operative and pathology reports) for coding accuracy, ensuring physician signatures are complete, and adhering to CMS/Medicare regulations. The role requires technical knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT-4 coding systems. The coder will provide accurate coded encounters to the billing department, notify clinicians of missing information, and follow up as needed.
