Job summary

Humana, Inc. is seeking a Medical Coding Coordinator to review records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient services. The role requires certification (CCS, CRC, or CPC) and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records, with on-site work at a Florida facility.

You will coordinate coding activities, support audits, and ensure documentation aligns with guidelines. 40-hour work week, full-time, on-site only, with TB screening requirements as part of Humana's program.

Qualifications

• Must be certified at least CCS, CRC, or CPC.
• Recent graduates with coding experience encouraged to apply.
• Experience using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS coding books.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, clinical documentation, and related source materials to assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and other applicable coding systems per guidelines.
• Ensure coding is accurate, complete and compliant with regulatory requirements.
• Analyze, enter, update, and maintain coding-related information in internal databases.
• Respond to internal requests for coding decisions and documentation questions.
• Identify missing or unclear documentation and escalate issues as needed.
• Support audits, quality reviews, and coding validation activities.
• Maintain productivity and quality for assigned coding work.
• Stay current on coding updates and internal process requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support accurate documentation and coding outcomes.
