Younker 5 is a 22-bed Renal, Transplant, and Urology unit specializing in medical surgical patients. We are Transplant Center Certified and one of Central Iowa’s only Kidney Transplant Centers. Our team is dedicated to multidisciplinary, patient-centered care focusing on optimal outcomes and safe discharges.

Role Responsibilities

The CMA supports patient care on the inpatient med/surg unit, performing tasks delegated by nurses such as vital signs, dressing changes, medication administration (non-controlled and non-IV), and assistance with admissions and discharges.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or equivalent experience
• Current Certified Medical Assistant certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
• Mandatory Reporter certification
• Fluent in English; basic computer skills; culturally sensitive; critical thinking skills
