Job description

At Restore First Health, we are dedicated to providing advanced, in-home wound care through a holistic approach that emphasizes collaboration, communication, and care coordination. Our mission is to improve health outcomes by delivering innovative, patient-centered care. Every member of our team plays an essential role in helping patients achieve better health today and a healthier future tomorrow.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our dynamic mobile wound care team. This position is integral to delivering high-quality, specialized wound care in patients’ homes, skilled nursing facilities, and clinic settings. Under the direction of the Practice Manager and Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in supporting wound care procedures, patient education, and treatment coordination.

This is a travel-based role requiring the operation of a company vehicle to provide wound care services. Extensive driving is required, and adherence to professional driving standards is expected.

Key Responsibilities:
Wound Care Support & Patient Assistance:
  • Obtain and document vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, height, and weight).
  • Assist in patient positioning, prepping, and draping for amniotic allograft placement and wound procedures.
  • Support wound dressing changes, debridement procedures, and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain and clean all medical supplies and tools after each patient visit.
Mobile Wound Care & Professional Driving:
  • Operate a company vehicle while adhering to all traffic laws and Restore First Health’s professional driving policy.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness—pre-gas and clean the exterior daily, and the interior weekly (or as needed).
  • Pack necessary wound care medical supplies daily based on the patient schedule.
  • Provide real-time ETA updates to the wound care team and notify patients before visits.
  • Prioritize hands-free communication while driving and limit personal calls to emergencies only.
Wound Supply Management & Documentation:
  • Manage and track wound care supplies, ensuring availability for all patient visits.
  • Replenish wound care kits and maintain organized “go bags” for efficient daily operations.
  • Assist in processing wound care orders in collaboration with the provider and Practice Manager.
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) documentation of wound treatments and patient interactions.
Wound Care Coordination & Scheduling:
  • Work with the Practice Manager to optimize the daily wound visit and consultation schedule.
  • Confirm patient appointments the day before and provide estimated arrival times on the day of the visit.
  • Coordinate wound care visits with primary care physicians (PCPs), specialists, and home health providers.
  • Ensure all necessary wound care documentation, orders, and medical records are obtained and processed correctly.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), EMT, or Phlebotomy certification required.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical practice setting, preferably in wound care.
  • Experience with EMR systems (Athena preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
  • Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and office operations, including Microsoft Office.
Schedule:
  • Day shift, Monday – Friday.
  • Full-time, mobile wound care setting.
Compensation:
  • Competitive pay based on experience: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
Benefits:

At Restore First Health, we are committed to work-life balance and a positive work environment. We offer:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid Time Off.
  • Paid holidays.
  • Opportunities for advancement and on-the-job training.
  • And More
Our Culture and Values:

At Restore First Health, we believe that quality patient care starts with an engaged and compassionate team. Our approach focuses on:

  • Collaboration: Working alongside home health providers, assisted living programs, hospital discharge planners, and families to create a seamless mobile wound care experience.
  • Care Coordination: Partnering with primary care providers, specialists, and home health agencies to provide integrated and holistic wound care.
