Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a full-time AM shift to support clinicians in preparing patients and assisting with treatments and research protocols.

The position involves simple, non-invasive procedures under supervision, plus clerical and/or lab duties. Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and CMA/CCMA certification, with CPR required or obtainable within 30 days of hire, serving patients from newborns to the elderly.

Qualifications

Job Description

May perform various clerical and/or lab duties as requested. Responds to the unique needs of all patients ages newborn through geriatric. All candidates for this position must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required. Currently certified as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required. If certified by another accrediting agency, AAMA or NHA certification must be obtained within six (6) months of employment. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment.
