Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Full-Time Remote Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Telehealth Services team. You will support virtual patient care and collaborate with a dedicated healthcare team to improve patient outcomes. Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

Position works Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with one weekend and one closing shift per month. Requires BLS within 90 days of hire and an active CMA/EMT-Basic credential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Current, unexpired Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, or equivalent) or EMT-Basic certification.
• Less than a year of related experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under the supervision of the Physician, NP/PA, RN or LPN.
• Support the delivery of high-quality virtual patient care as part of the Telehealth Services team.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure patient outcomes.

Hours

| Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM-5:00 PM | 1 weekend and 1 closing shift required per month

Overview

The Certified Medical Assistant performs patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

Experience

• Less than a year of related experience is required

Education

• High School Graduate or Equivalent is required

Certification/Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
• Current, unexpired Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, or equivalent) or EMT-Basic certification from an accredited organization

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.14 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
