The Medical Assistant Supervisor assists physicians in assessing, examining, and treating patients.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise department medical assistants, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  2. Establish schedules for medical assistants in the clinic.
  3. Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure proper identification by confirming name and date of birth.
  4. Perform and document vital signs, clinical care quality measures, and medical history information.
  5. Assist physicians in performing medical/surgical procedures as directed.
  6. Remain proficient and knowledgeable regarding the use and documentation requirements within information technology systems within the scope of practice.
  7. Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures.

Education & Experience:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS through the American Red Cross may be acceptable at some Pennsylvania practice locations.
  • Experience in a physician office or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • For NJ Only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting program with at least 330 hours of instruction, including training in administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
  • For internal Einstein applicants only: Medical Assistant certification is not required if a current Einstein employee in a Medical Assistant role with a hire date prior to 7/1/2024 transfers within Einstein entities.
