Certified Medical Assistant - Supervisor

Position Title: Certified Medical Assistant Supervisor

Locations: Gainesville, FL; Lake City, FL

  • Work closely with the VP, Medical Management to ensure CMA coverage and patient process flow, according to Policy and Procedure in all outpatient clinics.
  • Provide patient care in the community mental health clinic setting under the direct responsibility of a licensed physician.
  • Perform all duties of the Medical Assistant and function as the resource person to the Certified Medical Assistants; clinical skills performed are within the scope of a Medical Assistant as defined by Florida Statutes 458.3485, and Meridian Policy and Procedure.
  • Act as a liaison between management, staff, and the individuals we serve.
  • The CMA Supervisor may also perform clerical, insurance, and medical record functions.
  • May be required to float to other clinics as needed for staffing. Reliable personal transportation is a requirement of this position as is the willingness to travel to a different location with little notice for coverage purposes.
  • The CMA Supervisor should display initiative, have the ability to multitask, and be able to assume additional responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and be a team member is essential.
  • Must possess current certification as a Medical Assistant.

Who are we looking for?

  • Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited course of study as a Medical Office Assistant and have proof of certification as a Medical Assistant or possess the equivalent knowledge and skills base by having completed/graduated from similar types of formal medical training such as a formal medical services training program offered by the United States Armed Services.
  • Candidate must obtain certification as a Medical Assistant within 6 months of hire if he/she qualified under the formal medical services training program noted above.
  • One year of direct patient care experience in an outpatient medical health setting is required.

Drivers Requirement:

Must have a current Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record while meeting company insurance requirements.
