Join us as a Certified Medical Assistant - RRHS Premier Women's Care at Lifepoint Health.

Rutherford Regional Health System, a 143-bed acute care facility, offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, dedicated to providing quality patient care in a professional environment through teamwork.

Our partnership with Duke LifePoint Healthcare combines clinical excellence with extensive healthcare resources to transform community health in Rutherford County.

The Certified Medical Assistant role is a non-exempt position responsible for supporting patient flow, assisting providers, and maintaining a safe environment, under the physician's direction.

Essential Functions:

• Assess patient needs by taking vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records.
• Prepare equipment and assist with medical procedures and exams.
• Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and patient registration.
• Administer injections as prescribed.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock supplies in exam rooms.
• Educate patients on procedures, medications, and diets.
• Follow PPE guidelines to ensure safety against infections.
• Coordinate specialist referrals and testing appointments.
• Assist with front desk duties, including answering phones and scheduling.

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.

Required Skills:

• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work independently.

Licenses:

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Work Experience:

• Prior experience in a physician's office preferred.
