Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides patient care under the supervision of a medical provider. This role supports clinical and administrative functions, including assisting with medical procedures, maintaining exam rooms, managing patient intake, and ensuring efficient clinic operations while delivering excellent patient service.

Essential Functions
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, wound care, suture removal, administering injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, urine tests, EKGs, and applying splints or other specialty-specific tasks.
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms for patient visits and procedures.
  • Perform patient intake duties, including reporting test results, phone triage, and documenting medical information as directed by licensed personnel or providers.
  • Review and maintain daily logs and documentation.
  • Support administrative duties like pre-registering patients, scheduling, referrals, insurance verification, and communication management.
  • Maintain an organized workload while providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
  • Monitor and requisition clinic supplies and equipment to ensure inventory and functionality.
  • Educate patients on medications, diets, and health topics, addressing questions for understanding.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • 0-1 years of experience in a medical setting or externship required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and patient care techniques.
  • Proficiency in medical records systems and basic computer applications.
  • Understanding of medical terminology and infection control.

Licenses and Certifications
