Job summary

Bon Secours is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Colonial Heights Internal Medicine practice. The CMA works with the primary care physician to ensure high-quality patient care, updating health records, measuring vitals, and preparing treatment rooms.

Requirements include a CMA certification from a recognized body, BLS, and at least one year of medical assisting experience (clerical experience in a physician's office is a plus). Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Active CMA certification from recognized bodies.
• BLS certification required/priority prior to independent patient care.
• One year MA experience preferred; clerical experience in a physician's office also valued.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Review and update patient charts, verify test results and hospital records.
• Measure vital signs (pulse, respiration, BP, weight, height).
• Perform clerical duties: inventory, track referrals, answer phones.
• Troubleshoot effectively; perform other duties as assigned.
