Job summary

VillageMD in Richmond, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients and enhance their visit experience. You will welcome patients, prepare exam rooms, document vital signs, and communicate clearly about procedures and next steps.

The role requires Nationally Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, phlebotomy experience, BLS, and at least 1 year in primary care or urgent care; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• Nationally certified or registered Medical Assistant required.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers required.
• High School Diploma/Equivalency required.

Responsibilities

• Performs point-of-care laboratory tests and EKGs as ordered.
• Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed.
• Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Performs phlebotomy and processes specimens.
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Provides patient instruction regarding medications and diets.
