JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified to perform routine administrative and patient care support duties in a medical practice, assisting medical and nursing staff during patient examinations and treatments, and ensuring smooth office operations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform patient intake, including recording vital signs and clinical information.
  2. Handle telephone messages, document encounters, follow established protocols, and inform providers.
  3. Administer medications as ordered by providers or per protocols, following the six rights of medication administration.
  4. Participate in performance improvement projects.
  5. Set up for clinical procedures, perform high-level disinfection and sterilization, and other related tasks within scope of practice.
  6. Obtain prior authorizations for medications and medical equipment as needed.
  7. Provide coverage in the clinic to meet patient and provider needs, as delegated by the nurse manager or lead.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program (CAAHEP or ABHES accreditation preferred).
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required. Please specify your certification, number, and expiration date on your resume.
  • BLS certification required.
