Job summary

Silver Pines is seeking a Medical Assistant to support licensed nursing staff in a small detox and residential treatment center in Pennsylvania. The role includes intake, vital signs, specimen collection, injections, wound care, and patient education while maintaining safety and dignity for clients.

Evening and weekend availability is required. The candidate should be certified, with excellent communication and multitasking abilities, and willing to support clients across daily living activities.

Qualifications

  • Current Medical Assistant Certification.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • CPR certified.
  • Positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with client intake upon admission.
  • Obtain Breathalyzer and UDS on intake and as per protocol for client monitoring.
  • Assist with body and clothing search.
  • Provide basic client care assisting with activities of daily living.
  • Monitor and report changes in client condition to nursing staff.
  • Support emotional needs of clients during treatment.
  • Locate detox clients for provider appointments and assessments every four hours.
  • Obtain vital signs every four hours or as needed.
  • Obtain client weight.
  • Administer oral medication and injections within scope of practice.
  • Perform blood glucose testing (FSBS).
  • Perform Venipuncture Procedure.
  • Provide client education.
  • Perform wound care.
  • Assist with cleaning rooms and packing belongings for discharge.
