Job summary

Imagine360 is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the miCare Health Center in Deland, FL. This position renders patient care under the delegation of miCare Practitioners and performs related clerical duties to support daily clinic operations.

Responsibilities include patient intake, vitals, phlebotomy, specimen collection, charting, infection control, and maintaining accurate records while coordinating with the care team.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse OR Certified Medical Assistant program.
  • 2+ years clinical medical assistant experience with phlebotomy.
  • Medical terminology proficiency.
  • Current BLS.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient care under practitioner supervision.
  • Perform venipuncture and collect specimens as directed.
  • Handle front desk tasks and patient flow.
  • Maintain patient records and infection control standards.

Job description

Imagine360 is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the team! This position is responsible for rendering care for patients of the miCare Health Center under the delegation of the miCare Practitioner(s). This position will also perform applicable office and clerical duties as related to the daily miCare Clinic operation.

Position Location: Deland, FL

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • General Medical Assistant
    • Utilizes medical knowledge and skills to perform patient care tasks under the conformance of current and recognized techniques, procedures, and standards within the scope of practice of the certification held. Includes but not limited to:
    • Office reception, including greeting patients, answering telephone, and direct calls to patients.
    • Documenting patients' demographics, history, symptoms and other significant information as directed by the Practitioner(s).
    • Maintaining a safe work environment within compliance with infection control guidelines.
    • Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
    • Venipuncture and skin puncture for the purpose of withdrawing blood.
    • Collect fluid or tissue samples, using appropriate collection procedures.
    • Managing patient flow.
    • Perform effective communication with miCare team and patient to ensure coordination of care.
    • Carry out Practitioner(s) orders accurately and directly.
    • Document provided care as required.
  • Operational Responsibilities
    • Inventory, ordering and restocking supplies.
    • Maintaining documentation and patient files.
    • Maintain a functional and clean work environment.
    • Maintain procedure manual, update as needed. Ensure consistent management to procedures.
    • Facilitation of Health Fairs for participating employers.
    • Presentation to potential and existing clients.
  • Customer Service
    • Acts as a role model in demonstrating the core values in customer service delivery.
    • Provides timely and thorough follow-up with internal and external customers.
    • Appropriately escalates difficult issues up the chain up to miCare administration following the reporting structure.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Serves on committees, work groups, and/or process improvement teams, as assigned, to assist in improving quality/customer satisfaction.
    • Recognizes and alerts appropriate supervisor of trends within their scope of responsibility that fall outside of quality parameters.
    • Performs self-quality monitoring in order to develop and execute plans to meet established goals.
    • Provides ongoing feedback to help optimize quality performance.
    • Collaborates with others and cross-departmentally to improve or streamline procedures.
    • Develops new or improves current internal processes to improve quality

Required Experience/Education:

  • Graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse OR Certified Medical Assistant program
  • 2+ years clinical medical assistant experience with phlebotomy skills.
  • Medical terminology proficiency.
  • Current BLS
  • Working knowledge of computers and software including but not limited to Microsoft Office products

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize workloads multi-task and manage priorities in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of protected health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Work is indoors in an office environment with moderate noise.
  • Intermittent physical effort involving lifting of up to 25 pounds, standing, sitting, walking, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and supporting patients is required.
  • A typical workday may involve exposure to virus, disease and infections.
  • Also frequent use of a keyboard, and reaching with hands and arms required.
  • Normal vision and hearing abilities required, including close vision and ability to adjust focus.
