Certified Medical Assistant
The Certified Medical Assistant will verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of visits. Responsibilities include preparing patients for examinations through preliminary physical tests such as measuring blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summaries. The role requires maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality, notifying providers of pertinent information, and assisting clinicians with examinations and procedures.
Additional duties involve administering non-controlled medications and injections, performing Rapid HIV testing with counseling, conducting venipuncture and lab processing, reviewing lab results, and maintaining lab and patient records. The assistant will also organize clinic exam rooms, manage inventory, and support clinic management to ensure efficient patient flow and safety. Providing patient instructions and information is also part of the role.
The hourly pay ranges from $16 to $18, depending on education and experience. Candidates must have successfully completed the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam from an accredited institute such as AAMA, NCCT, AMT, NHA, or ARMA.
