Job description

Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant will perform various services and related activities in support of patient care, including accurate data entry for patient registration and insurance verification. The CMA demonstrates good judgment and communicates effectively with patients, families, licensed personnel, insurance companies, and third-party payers. A professional and caring manner is essential.

Responsibilities:
  1. Meet expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  2. Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in providing high-quality medical care.
  3. Accurately enter charges on patient accounts, register patients, and update patient records.
  4. Verify insurance and record relevant statistics.
  5. Assist with scheduling appointments, answer phones, keep providers informed of changes, and inform patients of their benefits.
  6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Experience

One year of medical office experience preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
