Job summary

Methodist Medical Group in Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses by performing routine clinical tasks, entering documentation, and supporting patient education under physician guidance.

The role requires completion of an accredited MA program, current certification, CPR, and the ability to move and stand for long periods. You will screen, assist in injections, take vitals, and help maintain inventory and infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited MA program is required.
• National/Registered Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• CPR certification is required.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and perform under physician guidance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains strict patient confidentiality and discretion with patient information.
• Implements patient care under the guidance of physicians and office staff.
• Screen phone calls during triage under physician supervision; refer medical decisions to a physician.
• Administers intramuscular, intradermal, or subcutaneous injections with proper documentation.
• Assists physicians and MAs in nursing care per clinic policies and procedures.
• Takes patient history and vitals.
• Check monthly for expired medications and manage disposal records.
• Maintain medical supplies and vaccine inventory; organize supply closet.
• Assist in Rx refills via Fax, E‑Rx, or phone and update medication module.
• Demonstrate infection control procedures and sanitize instruments; maintain QA for autoclave.
