Job summary

NATIVE HEALTH in Arizona is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinic operations in our community-focused team. The MA will manage client intake, perform back-office tasks, collect baseline data, and assist providers to deliver patient-centered care.

Requirements include CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA certification, a high school diploma, and at least two years in direct patient care; Spanish is a plus. Valid AZ driver’s license, background checks, and BLS within 90 days are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant training program is required.
• Must be certified as a CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA.
• Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in direct patient care setting, pediatric and adult patients preferred.
• Spanish language fluency is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Screens patients and documents findings in the medical information system.
• Assists practitioner and staff in patient care; reinforces discharge instructions and deliverables.
• Administers medications and immunizations under supervision; documents in the medical information system.
• Performs infection control and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
• Performs medical office administration; monitors inventories and maintains supply levels.
• Performs CLIA-waiver testing and collaborates with the contract laboratory technician.
• Performs all Core Competencies in patient-centered care.
• Supports the Native Health mission as needed.
