Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support a patient-centered approach in Camden, SC. You will welcome patients, collect medical histories, record vitals, prepare exam rooms and assist physicians during visits.

You will maintain EMR documentation, ensure privacy and comfort, and communicate effectively with the care team. CMA certification and BLS are required; prior MA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.
• CMA or CCMA certification (or listed certifying bodies) required or preferred.
• Current BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming and interviewing patients while gathering medical history.
• Measuring and documenting vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, height, weight).
• Preparing treatment rooms and assisting providers during examinations.
• Maintaining accurate patient documentation in the EMR.
• Delivering patient-centered care with privacy and professionalism.
• Communicating effectively with patients, providers and team members.
• Maintaining annual competencies and supporting a safe clinical environment.
• Performing additional duties to support the practice.
