Job summary

SSM Health’s Family & Community Medicine Clinic in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Medical Assistant to join a collaborative team.

You will room and prepare patients, document vital signs, assist with exams, and perform point‑of‑care testing and phlebotomy under the direction of a nurse or provider. This day shift position offers a 40‑hour workweek with orientation and growth opportunities within a values‑driven health system.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 10 years of work experience.
• Wisconsin-specific requirement for MA certification pathway.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider as supervised by provider or RN.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patient charts; prepares treatment rooms.
• Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, scheduling patients, and filing.
• Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking supplies; maintains a clean environment.
• Documents provider encounters; lists diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as indicated.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience

Wisconsin ONLY - High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience, and graduate from medical assistant school or training program or education equivalency for certification
