Job summary

North Country Healthcare (NCH) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support clinical and administrative operations in a medical office setting. The CMA will assist providers during examinations, document vital signs and medical history in EMR, prepare rooms, and help with vaccinations and basic lab work.

Ideal candidates have CMA certification, BLS/CPR, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current CMA certification from a recognized certifying body (e.g., AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA).
• Association* accredited Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heartsaver CPR AED, with renewal.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical history, and current medications accurately in EMR systems.
• Prepare examination rooms, ensuring supplies and equipment are available and sanitized.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by providers and protocols.
• Perform routine laboratory tests and specimen collection following proper procedures.
• Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals, coordinating with other facilities.
