Job summary

Atlantic Health in Summit, NJ seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct and indirect patient care under physician supervision. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth practice operations, performing clerical, administrative, or clinical tasks as needed.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and CCMA certification; associate degree and EPIC EMR experience are preferred. Competitive benefits are provided within the Atlantic Health network.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• National CCMA certification from recognized bodies or precertification agreement if pending (within 60 days).
• Preferred: Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.

Responsibilities

• Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers screening tools.
• Records medical information and vitals, conducts patient interviews, and collects specimens.
• Assists with clinic visits, verifies and records clinical data, ensures quality standards.
• Guides patients through the health care system and helps with appointments.
• Maintains medical records and schedules; cleans and prepares examination rooms.
• Provides emotional support as per plan of care and assists with referrals.
