Job summary

Orlando Health Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to perform patient care under physician supervision in an ambulatory setting. The role focuses on gathering patient data, assisting with examinations, and documenting care in accordance with group policies.

Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification options, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school, or 5 years of verifiable patient care experience.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Maintains CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certifications from recognized bodies.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Supports quality initiatives, goal attainment, and clinical outcome improvements.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families.
• Collaborates with administrative and operations staff.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician during examinations and procedures.
• Documents patient data, treatments, and education per policies.
• Schedules specialty testing and physician consultations as needed.
• Handles incoming/outgoing calls with clinical judgment.
• Maintains compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Medical Assistant training (approved technical school)

5 years verifiable patient care experience
