Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old (21 for positions with driving duties).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
• Must complete an Employee Health meeting prior to starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Shows patients to the examination room and prepares them for the provider.
• Records patients’ medical history, vaccine status, vital statistics, and medication reconciliation.
• Maintains compliance with department, clinic, and state/federal regulations and policies.
• Handles phone duties: answers, greets, directs, and documents messages in the EMR.
• Cares for instruments: cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing where equipment is available.
• Attends mandatory in-services and staff meetings.
• Adheres to policies and procedures; participates in drills and emergency preparedness.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Uses EMR forms and documents appropriately.
• Collects, labels, and transports specimens as needed.
• Assists providers with tests and procedures; acts as a resource to staff.
• Floats to other clinical departments as assigned.
