Requires a High School Diploma or GED, AHA BLS-HCP, and certification through a national CMA group.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure: Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national association (AAMA, AMT, NHC, NHA, etc.).
• Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; proficient with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming clinical calls and address patient questions or route to appropriate department.
• Coordinate communication of physician orders and update scheduling as needed.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR and support care plans.
• Schedule appointments, process referrals, and collect demographics and insurance information.
• Serve as patient advocate and support care coordination and quality improvement activities.
