Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care in our Alamogordo clinic. You will perform data entry for registrations, verify insurance, and assist providers to deliver quality care with professionalism and empathy.

Candidates should have CMA certification and BLS, a high school diploma or equivalent, and roughly one year of medical office experience. This is a full-time, day-shift position with standard 8 AM to 5 PM hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Assisting the physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in giving superior medical care.
• Accurate Data Entry of charges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updating patient accounts.
• Insurance Verification and recording of Statistics.
• Assist with scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, keeping providers informed of changes, and informing patients of their benefits.
• Other duties as assigned.
