Haywood Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support providers in a busy chronic pain management office in Clyde, NC. The role involves patient assessments, basic procedures, specimen collection and efficient clinic operations.

Applicants should hold current CMA credentials with BLS within 90 days of hire and perform both clinical and administrative duties in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current state certification as a certified or registered medical assistant.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Under provider supervision, assist with patient assessments and treatments.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection; monitor and communicate patient condition changes.
• Document patient care provided accurately and promptly.
• Maintain examination areas and clean, stocked supply rooms.
• Maintain equipment and medical supplies; assist with stocking and cleaning.
• Perform administrative tasks including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.
• Complete other delegated tasks by practice leads, supervisors or Market Director.

We are a busy chronic pain management office that leans more toward interventional treatments than medication. Our patients are primarily adults managing long-term pain conditions. The Medical Assistant will support providers with patient care, assist with procedures, and ensure efficient daily operations. We are looking for someone who takes initiative, pays close attention to detail, and works well within a team-oriented environment. How You'll Contribute

• Under the supervision of provider, assists with performing patient assessments and treatments.


• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Monitors and communication regarding changes in patient condition.


• Documents patient care given.


• Maintains examination areas.


• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.


• Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.


• Completes other tasks, within scope of position, as delegated by the practice leads, supervisors, managers or Market Director.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current state certification as a certified or registered medical assistant and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), within 90 days of hire.


• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.


• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, required


• Previous medical office experience, preferred.


• Knowledge of medical terminology, preferred.
