Job Description:

Full Time 40 weekly hours, dayshift

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant assists the staff and physicians by collecting pertinent patient information needed to
determine physical and psychological needs, address and identify health problems. The Medical Assistant performs
selected treatments, procedures and routine duties under the supervision of physicians and the Nurse Manager/
Charge Nurse. The MA functions as a member of the healthcare team with responsibilities commensurate with
training and demonstrated competencies. Direct patient care is provided to adult patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions

  • Effectively communicates with patients todetermine changes in health status since last visit, includingmedications, and records in EMR.

  • Maintains appropriate and efficient patient flowthrough the infusion center

  • Assists physicians, APRNs, and nurses with patientcare, exams, tests, and procedures as designated.

  • Accurately obtains and records vital signs, reporting

  • abnormal readings as appropriate

  • Performs clerical duties as assigned

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required

  • One year minimum job-related experience required

  • Computer skills preferred

  • Must obtain certification of Medical Assistant from approved institution (AAMA, AMT, or NCCT) within 1 year

  • BCLS
