Job summary

The Washington Department of Corrections seeks a certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) for the Washington Corrections Complex for Women in Gig Harbor, WA. The role supports patient care, clinical duties, and medical records under the supervision of a licensed provider.

Schedule is 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday–Friday, with a typical 40-hour work week. This non-perm position is 12 months, with benefits and opportunities for growth within Health Services.

Qualifications

• Active WA MA-C license is required.
• Experience in outpatient clinic setting preferred.
• BLS/First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a licensed Practitioner or RN.
• Record patient data and maintain accurate medical records.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies as needed (CPR readiness).
• Prepare exam rooms and assist in scheduling and patient flow.
• Support health services team to ensure timely and efficient care.
