Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Medical Assistant for our Behavioral Clinic.

As a Medical Assistant at MercyOne, you will be responsible for delivering patient care that promotes safety and wellbeing. This includes performing preliminary physical tests such as measuring blood pressure, recording weight, temperature, pulse, and respirations, and other measures as directed by clinical protocols.

• Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problems.

• Draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis if required.

• Administer medications and vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and inhalant routes as ordered.

• Perform routine tests such as EKGs if required.

• Schedule diagnostic tests and follow up to ensure completion.

• Communicate test results and care plans with patients by phone or mail as directed by physicians.

• Prepare, clean, sterilize instruments, maintain equipment, and keep exam rooms stocked and clean.

• Document patient care, tests, and examination results in medical records as directed.

• Maintain knowledge of Neurostar TMS, including certification, insurance standards, patient qualifications, and practice standards.

General Requirements:

Current/valid Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required. Medication Aide certification or completed Medication Aide 40-hour course required if applicable. May require specialized training such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician (NCT). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within three months of hire. Mandatory Reporter abuse training required within three months of hire.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
• One year healthcare experience, preferably in a clinic setting, required.
• Prior behavioral healthcare experience preferred.
• Must obtain Neurostar TMS training certification within 60 days of hire.
