Expected pay for this position is $20.41 - $24.01/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an hourly position.

MOA pay is $17.60 per hour.

Overview

Eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus for external applicants and new internal grads

Position Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant performs delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both clinical and front office functions, providing clerical support, assisting in healthcare delivery, and supporting patient care activities under the physician/provider's direction. Duties are performed in accordance with the specific needs of the practice. If working in a Rural Health Clinic setting, BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certificate of completion or Diploma from a medical assistant program
  • OR completion of Guild MedCerts medical assistant certification course AND certificate of completion from OSF applied learning program
  • OR education equivalency: at least 6 months experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or proof of on-the-job training/education in medical assisting at another healthcare organization.

Licensure/Certification: CMA-Certified Medical Assistant with current certification from one of the following agencies:

  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), CMA credential
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT), RMA credential
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), NCMA credential
  • National HealthCare Association (NHA), CCMA credential

Other Skills/Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, solid computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Willingness to travel to all five locations; schedule will be based on needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a medical office assistant, CNA, or equivalent
  • Experience with electronic health records and phlebotomy

If working in the Rural Health Clinic setting, BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
