Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse, Rooming - Heart and Vascular

POSITION SUMMARY: The rooming CMA or Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing direct or indirect nursing care to patients presenting with urgent, emergency, or potential health problems. They utilize knowledge of basic nursing principles, practices, and ethics, and participate in the organization and management of the physician's practice.

QUALIFICATIONS: Formal training, indicated by a graduation certificate from an accredited CMA program or LPN school of nursing; current State licensure or CMA Certification. Preferred qualifications include at least 1 year of experience and current CPR certification. Personal skills required include a willingness to prioritize patient comfort and satisfaction, effective communication skills, and the ability to work harmoniously with physicians, other department members, and clinic staff.

Physical requirements include the ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours per day; bend, stoop, twist; assist patients in turning; help patients arise from the exam table; push wheelchair-bound patients; and assist patients in arising from and returning to wheelchairs.
