Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Anaheim is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care and supportive functions in a clinic setting. Under supervision, you will assist physicians, perform routine patient care, and manage charting and communications.

Responsibilities include medication prep per orders, adherence to infection control standards, and accurate documentation of patient information and test results. Will float to orthopedics and participate in on-call scheduling as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Preferred: 1 year of medical assisting experience in the last five years.
• Computer and typing skills are expected.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care professionals with patient care and procedures.
• Perform routine patient care tasks and clerical duties including chart management and scheduling.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Support infection control and aseptic techniques as outlined by guidelines.
• Document patient information, nursing procedures and responses while protecting confidentiality.
• Coordinate patient flow and follow-up across clinic locations.
