Job summary

MultiCare Health System in Spokane is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) to join the physician/APP office team. The MA-C provides safe clinical care under supervision and helps manage patient flow, interviews patients, and supports with exams and venipuncture.

Washington MA-C certification and current BLS are required. Position includes a $7,500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates and a day shift (M-F) with full-time work expectations.

Qualifications

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) license is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organizing patient flow in collaboration with front office staff.
• Interviewing patients and obtaining vital signs.
• Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments.
• Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture.
• Administration of medications in compliance with WA regulations.

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (MA-C) is an integral part of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider (APP) office team working under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner. Work situations require performance of safe clinical skills within the scope of practice of the MA-C. The MA-C has continuous contact with physicians, APPs, nurses, front office staff, patients and their families/caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned which may include:
• Organizing patient flow in collaboration with the front office staff
• Interviewing patients
• Obtaining vital signs
• Assisting patients in preparing for exams or treatments
• Performing specimen collection, including venipuncture
• Administration of medications in compliance with Washington State Department of Health regulations and documented competency
• Relaying instructions/information to patients and their families/caregivers

Responsibilities

• Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned which may include:
• Sending and receiving of patient medical records
• Facilitating patient referrals
• Preparing forms for patients

Requirements

• Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Current BLS certification

Pay and Benefit Expectations

• We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off.

• The pay scale is $22.34 - $32.14 USD.
• However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education.
