Job summary

UnityPoint Clinic in West Des Moines is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our part-time Internal Medicine clinic. You will support physicians during exams, room patients, record histories and vital signs, and help educate patients.

Tie to a collaborative care team with a focus on adult health, in a fast-paced setting. Mon/Wed 8:30AM-5PM, Fri 9AM-1PM; 20 hours/week and a strong benefits package are included.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (certificate, diploma, or associate degree) required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the listed cert bodies (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA) is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during patient exams and procedures.
• Room patients, record histories and vital signs, and document in the EHR.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per licensure scope.
• Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate's Degree) required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required:
  • National Healthcare Association
  • American Association of Medical Assistants
  • National Center for Competency Testing
  • National Certified Medical Assistant
  • National Association of Health Professionals
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants
  • American Allied Health
  • American Medical Technologists
• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
