UnityPoint Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Cardiology Clinic - Methodist. This full-time role supports exams, treatments, and patient education, with shifts Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered, along with UnityPoint Health's comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth.

Competenze

• Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through NHAs, AAMA, NCCT, NCM, NAHP, ARMA, AAH, AMT or other approved bodies is required.
• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC a plus!

• Room patients, record histories, vital signs, and document in EHR.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, record patient histories, vital signs, and document in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per scope of licensure
• Educate patients on health, medications, and follow-up care
• Coordinate referrals and patient care follow-ups
• Ensure a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants (Certificate, diploma, or Associate’s Degree) required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant through one of the following required:
  • National Healthcare Association
  • American Association of Medical Assistants
  • National Center for Competency Testing
  • National Certified Medical Assistant
  • National Association of Health Professionals
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants
  • American Allied Health
  • American Medical Technologists
• Prior experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC a plus!
• For positions within UnityPoint Clinic, team members may be required to work at or to float to other locations to support optimized staffing
