Tower Health, a regional healthcare system in Pennsylvania, seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to join its team. The MA will perform clerical tasks (greeting patients, phones, scheduling, EMR updates) and direct patient care under provider delegation.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking histories and vitals, preparing exam rooms, explaining procedures, and assisting physicians and clinicians during examinations; a supportive role to ensure smooth patient flow.

Formación

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required.
• BLS Certification required.
• Certification from AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA, NAHP or NHA or THMG Leadership Approval for other certifications.

Responsabilidades

• Greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and update EMR.

Job Summary

• Medical assistant (MA) is positioned within the workforce to gather, screen, communicate and act based on delegation from a provider, registered nurse or Licensed Practical nurse as per scope of practice.
• The MA performs a combination of clerical and direct patient care duties.
• Clerical responsibilities include greeting patients, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, and updating patients electronic medical record (EMR).
• Clinical responsibilities include rooming patients, taking medical histories, performing and recording vital signs, preparing exam room for procedures, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, facilitation of patient flow through the office, and assisting the Physician, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant during examinations.

Must be a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant

• Completes and maintains all competencies and trainings as required for role.
• High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program

Certification and Licensure

• BLS Certification
• Current Medical Assistant Certification awarded through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA), National Association of Healthcare Professionals (NAHP) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA). Medical Assistant Certification other than those listed requires THMG Leadership Approval.
