Certified Medical Assistant / Licensed Practical Nurse

NEIGHBORHOOD FAMILY CLINICS – La Crosse, Onalaska, Sparta, Viroqua, and West Salem

We are seeking qualified CMAs / LPNs to join our healthcare team and work under the direction of a Physician, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner. This position will assist in meeting patients’ and families’ individual and age-specific needs. Personal qualifications include being dependable, compassionate, professional, flexible, able to work well with members of the health care team/patients/families, and provide safe direct patient care.

Qualified candidates should have successfully completed an accredited training program and have excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Highly desired to be proficient in medical terminology, computer skills/typing, and navigation/charting in the electronic health record.

Job specifics: 20-38 hours per week. Must be flexible with various shifts between 7am-6pm Monday-Friday. All nursing staff will be asked to rotate some Saturdays in our La Crosse clinic 7am-1pm. (Saturday bonus pay is offered).

Job responsibilities include rooming patients, measuring vital signs, performing EKGs and spirometry, performing venipunctures, handling and processing labs, administering injections, and completing other on-site tests, including rapid strep, monospot, TB, h pylori, troponin, urinalysis, pregnancy tests, and audiograms.

This candidate will also assist the MD, PA, or NP provider as needed with procedures. In addition, will have the opportunity to educate patients on a variety of topics, such as home glucometer testing and nebulizer treatments, and complete patient follow-up phone calls.

This candidate will also complete administrative tasks such as billing, scheduling appointments, checking patients in, scanning documents, medical prior authorizations, organizing supplies, contacting pharmacies and faxing prescriptions, and assisting with dictation of provider notes.

Wages: CMA $24 – $25 / LPN $28 – $30 / Starting wages are negotiable & based on experience.
