$3,000 Sign On for New MA FLOATER!!!!!!! An additional $2/hr for floating!!!

Locations: Miami Lakes, Miami Lakes East, Doral, Hialeah and Midtown

Primary Function

The Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. Supports clinician and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating pediatric patient population. The Laboratory Medical Assistant Floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will work in various offices to support either the MA role or dedicated Lab station.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Performs laboratory testing procedures in Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Serology, and Spirometry.
  • Reports laboratory results to a healthcare clinician and alerts them of critical or out-of-range values, documenting critical reports.
  • Performs phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.
  • Prepares specimens for reference lab send-outs, including labeling, resulting, and billing information.
  • Performs and documents quality control, including instrument maintenance.
  • Records patient vitals such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate; notifies clinician of any abnormalities.
  • Interviews patients, documents medical history, medications, allergies, vaccine, surgical, family, social histories, and barriers to care.
  • Obtains necessary medical records and follow-up documentation for clinician review.
  • Prepares patients for examinations, ensuring clinician orders are performed and documented.
  • Assists clinicians with age-appropriate screenings, electrocardiograms, suturing, ear lavages, wound care, and other procedures under supervision.
  • Performs vaccine and medication reconciliation, provides education, and administers injections with proper identification and post-observation.
  • Handles patient follow-up, communication, prescription refills, referrals, and documentation of forms and care plans.
  • Must be able to travel and adapt to a flexible schedule.
Qualifications

Education: Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum 1 year in a healthcare setting.

Licensure / Certification: MA Diploma/Certification or 3 years MA experience; active BLS certification; valid driver’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality control and basic medical terminology.
  • Phlebotomy skills and understanding of safety practices.
  • Effective communication and emergency assessment skills.
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Patient-facing indoor work, operating computers, exposure to hazards.
  • Manual dexterity, ability to lift 10 lbs, and perform various physical activities.
  • Sensory abilities including vision, hearing, smell, and touch; PPE usage.
