Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and communication, ensuring an exceptional patient experience from check-in to discharge. You will gather vital signs, assist with examinations, and help prepare patients for visits in a fast-paced, primary care setting.

Responsibilities include handling lab tests, EKGs, phlebotomy, medication administration under provider direction, and maintaining a clean, compliant exam area. High school diploma and CMA with BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant is required.
• 1 year of experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience is required.
• Current BLS certification for healthcare providers is required.
• High School Diploma/Equivalency is required.
• Experience in primary care, family practice, internal medicine, urgent care or ER is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs point-of-care laboratory tests and EKGs as ordered.
• Performs suture/staple removal and dressing changes.
• Collects and documents vital signs, histories and screenings.
• Authorizes prescription refills as directed.
• Prepares patients, room and supplies for visits or examinations.
• Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens.
• Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
