Qualifications

• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant from one of the listed accrediting bodies.
• Approved medical assisting program accredited by CAAHEP; ABHES; or comparable agency.
• Must have and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Demonstrated satisfactory performance during clinical experiences with positive references.
• Record of satisfactory employment references addressing teamwork, ethics, reliability, and related areas.
• Successful completion of background and fingerprint checks and related screenings.
• Submission of all required employment documents free of false information.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; record vitals and histories.
• Provide care under the supervision of a Licensed Independent Practitioner.
• Assist with examinations by explaining procedures and preparing instruments.
• Perform waived testing and obtain specimens; support CLIA/JCI compliance.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by the LIP.
• Instruct patients on proper specimen collection and follow-up steps.
• Maintain clinical records and coordinate appointments; manage EHR entries.
• Educate patients on medical issues; ensure infection control and PPE use.
• Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor with patients and staff.
