Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II, Certified to provide routine clinical and administrative support in an outpatient clinic. You will work under supervision, assisting providers and the care team with patient intake, procedures, and education.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, collecting vitals, drawing blood, assisting with treatments, and ensuring exam rooms are stocked and ready. Per diem schedule and onsite work with a 16-hour week are offered.

Qualifications

• Prefer candidate with prior clinical healthcare experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to engage with patients and families and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform rooming and intake, measure vital signs and patient data.
• Collect medical and social history.
• Review medication lists and allergies; coordinate with pharmacy.
• Assist providers during procedures and treatments.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection.
• Administer medications under supervision.
• Conduct tests like EKG or eye exams as directed.
• Identify required health screenings and prepare exam rooms.
• Provide after-visit instructions and patient education.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms; maintain equipment.
