Job summary

The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium (ANTHC) is seeking a Medical Assistant under supervision to assist providers in delivering high-quality health care to Alaska Native and American Indian families. You will perform basic medical procedures, take vital signs, room patients, and help schedule appointments.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, documentation in health records, injections, and ensuring patient flow.

Qualifications

• Certification from an accredited certified medical assistant program.
• BLS certification required.
• CMA certification from NCCT, AAMA, CCMA, NHA or AMCA is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Creates culturally appropriate interactions and adheres to customer service guidelines.
• Assists providers in delivering quality health care, including phlebotomy, vital signs, and rooming patients.
• Schedules patient appointments and procedures; documents care in the health record; supports smooth patient flow.
• Maintains clean work environment and reports safety hazards; participates in disaster planning.
• Maintains drug stock and equipment inventories; performs quality control testing where applicable.
• Establishes cooperative relationships with staff and performs other duties as assigned.
