Join Atlantic Health System as a Certified Medical Assistant I in our Pediatric Orthopedic Department in Morristown, NJ. This full-time, day shift position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative healthcare environment.

Job Description

The Certified Medical Assistant I is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under physician supervision. The role involves collaborating with the care team to ensure efficient practice operations and delivering excellent patient care. Tasks may include clerical, administrative, or clinical duties, with potential for specialized tasks.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Handle patient intake, update medical records, and administer screening tools.
  • Record medical information, conduct patient interviews, take vital signs, collect specimens, and administer medications under supervision.
  • Assist with walk-in and scheduled visits, verify and record clinical data, and ensure quality standards.
  • Guide patients through the healthcare system and assist with appointment scheduling.
  • Perform vital signs collection, assist with examinations, and prepare laboratory samples.
  • Communicate effectively, demonstrate professionalism, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Greet patients, maintain medical records, sanitize and organize patient rooms, and prepare examination rooms.
  • Provide emotional support and assist with patient referrals as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Schedule
  • Full-time, Days
  • Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • National Certification (CCMA) from NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT
  • Precertification agreement if certification is pending or expired
  • BLS certification upon hire

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field
  • Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems
  • 1+ year of healthcare experience, especially in outpatient settings
